Good Book
This book is about a fairy unlike any other. She cannot keep still while the elder is teaching. Primrose(her enemy) always has something to say about why she is so fidgety. She is the first woodfairy ever in recorded history to go out of the the clearing. She likes high places and loud noises unlike any other fairy who is afraid to go high and loud things. Her friend(Ivy) is the only one who will come to her house. This book is for people who feel like they dont fit in but love great adventures or for somebody who loves to read great books!

THe Best Book Ever!

A Magic Crystal?
Published in Library Binding by Turtleback Books Distributed by Demco Media (January, 2000)
Authors: Louis Sachar and Amy Wummer
Average review score:

Marvin Redpost A Magic Crystal?
I read Marvin Redpost, A Magic Crystal? It was a good, funny, exciting, COOL book. Do you think that others will read it? Well I hope that people will read the book because its fun to read it! Kids can read this book when they are in first through third grad!! You can get other book of Marvin Redpost books in you local library!

Marvin Redpost's a Winner!
It all started with Casey Happleton. She was the most unusual girl Marvin Redpost had ever met. She lived in an old fire station. Actually, it had been remodeled and on the inside looked pretty much like a regular house, except for the fire pole right in the middle of the living room. The pole went all the way up to the fourth floor and Casey was allowed to slide down on it. And, she had a big secret...a magic crystal. It used to be a normal rock, but had been struck by lightning in the storm the night before and now, if you made a wish on the magic crystal, it would come true. Casey had already tested it out. She had wished that Marvin would come over to her house and he had. Marvin was pretty skeptical about the magic and so he decided to test it himself. He wished that everyone would be in school the next day, no absences and the next day, everyone was in class. Then Casey wished for homemade cookies for an afterschool snack and a plate was waiting for them when she and Marvin got to his house later that day. Marvin figured the magic could be a coincidence and was pretty iffy. Casey was beginning to get on his nerves, always babbling away about the magic crystal and wishes and he finally got so angry that he wished she'd just shut up. And she did. She stopped talking completely. Now Marvin is starting to panic. No sounds are coming out of Casey's mouth and he doesn't know what to do..... Louis Sachar has written a delightful, silly and endearing story youngsters 6-10 will really enjoy. His writing is funny and true to life, his characters real people that kids can identify with and his scenes are vivid and at times laugh-out-loud funny. A Magic Crystal is a wonderful addition to the Marvin Redpost series.

Funny Throughout!
Louis Sachar's tricks on words in "A Magic Crystal (Marvin Redpost Series)" will have you and your child giggling, laughing, and even roaring. This story captivated my 6-year-olds' interest without the need for lots of pictures. I found myself enjoying it just as much as he did. My son could really relate to the characters and was excited by the plot. There is no better feeling for a parent when your child asks for more.

Pendulum Power
Published in Paperback by Inner Traditions Intl Ltd (March, 1987)
Authors: Greg Nielsen and Joseph Polansky
Average review score:

All you ever need to know about pendulums in a nutshell
This is a wonderful book which summarizes practically all you need to know about pendulums and dowsing, from the history to the best materials for making pendulums and all possible uses such as searching for lost items as well as making decisions (e.g. about relationships, business or which foods are good/bad for you). While not glossy, if you buy only one book about pendulums, this should be the one. This book in this or previous form(s) has been around for years - a testament to its worth.

Pendulum Power
Although Pendulum Power, by Greg Nielsen and Joseph Polansky, has been around for several years, its message is more relevant than ever in the confusing and turbulent times in which we now live.

A pendulum is simply a suspended object which is allowed to swing as dictated by the force of gravity. Pendulums are commonly used in grandfather clocks. Pendulums have another, far more ancient use, however. For thousands of years, they have been an essential part of divination. Nielsen and Polansky say "the pendulum is simply one method of many for communing consciously with our deeper being and allowing it to guide our everyday actions."

Their book introduces readers to the extensive history of the pendulum, from early divination to 20th-century medical practice. They then explain how the energy that is a part of every living organism makes the pendulum work. They say that the human nervous system "is the communication system of the body" and using a pendulum allows you to interpret the signals your "inner higher intelligence [communicates] through the nervous system."

Pendulums are very easy and inexpensive to make. A ring or button suspended from thread makes a simple pendulum. For readers wanting something more elegant, the authors provide detailed instructions for constructing a pendulum from doweling. Extensive directions are given for using pendulums. Readers will learn what kinds of questions to ask, and how to interpret the various movements of the pendulum. Nielsen and Polansky provide examples of how pendulums have been used to find lost objects, choose a career or change jobs, select a healthy diet based on personal needs, and aid in other types of decision making.

Pendulums are also used in healing. Anyone trying to determine the best decision or course of action, based on their personal needs, will find the techniques provided in Pendulum Power useful and enlightening.

Good Beginning Level Introduction To Dowsing
This book is a nicely-balanced presentation, oriented generally towards someone interested in learning how to dowse with the pendulum. It also has some interesting sections on the history of dowsing and true stories of dowsers in action. If you are going to pursue this endeavor, I think it is important to realize that practice makes perfect. The authors suggest spending one week of practicing several times a day, just watching the pendulum move various ways strictly under the influence of your will and desire. This is extremely important, because it teaches you to relax, let go and trust your subconscious mind. The second important step is to understand that there is "no order of difficulty in miracles", to paraphrase A Course In Miracles. It is no more difficult (or easy) to find a missing child in another state via map-dowsing than it is to successfully dowse for your car keys. The apparent difference in difficulty is artificial and all in one's belief system. Both events are "miracles" in that there is no rational explanation for how you found either. So your faith in the connectedness of all things must grow considerably, or you will simply fizzle out as a dowser. That's a significant challenge, but one worth rising to.

This book will give you a good start...

Photonic Crystals
Published in Hardcover by Princeton Univ Pr (03 July, 1995)
Authors: John D. Joannopoulos, Robert D. Meade, and Joshua N. Winn
Average review score:

An excellent text
This is a fish of a good book! The information that has come out in the last ten years about photonic band-gap materiels can be confusing and offputting. This book enables any astute reader a comprehension of the various properties that come into play when dealing with and controlling the propogation of light. I recommend it highly for use in the classroom as well as for the bedstand.

Quite an enjoyable read!
Graduate students (or advanced physics undergrads) will appreciate the beautiful analogy this book makes between solid state physics, which gave us semiconductor devices, and the newer field of photonics, which promises a revolution in optical devices. The writing is clear and consise, and the many colorful illustrations aid the reader in formulating a picture of how it all works. Just plain WELL DONE -- more physics texts should read like this one.

a brand new theory
With help of this new theory,we can turn so many things into realities which can't even be imagined several years ago. This theory urges us to look on things in a brand new way! I think miracles will come forth after our studying.

The Tarot Reader
Published in Paperback by Berkley Pub Group (June, 1994)
Author: Nancy Shavick
Average review score:

Small but mighty!
This is great Tarot interpretation handbook. Many Tarot books just describe the card's artwork. However I found Nancy's book had real juice to it and she focusses on the energy and meaning for the reader in the selection of the card. The quaint casual font used gives the book a homey quality. Wonderfully insightful, magically profound and inspiring text.

Easy to understand!
This small book is great! I like it better than her "The Tarot" although that is great too. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone interested in the Tarot. Although it is small, there is a lot of info here and it is modern in its interpretation - she makes it easy to understand in terms of relationships, etc.

Wonderful!
This book is of a truly different style and is a joy to read. She presents the meanings of the cards in a way that feels extremely down to earth and personal, almost as if she were right there with you. After reading this book my readings improved significantly.

Trials of Faith

Spellbound
I started out reading "Trials of Faith" a chapter at a time. In a couple of days, that was no longer an option. I had to finish it. It is an excellent book to give to someone that you feel you need to witness to, but are hesitant to do so. The Plan of Salvation is very plain in this book. I am looking forward to Crystal's next book

Hooray for Crystal!
I enjoyed the escape I found while reading this fictional story, but mostly I enjoyed how she incorporated God's wonderful infallible Truth into it. Am looking forward to more from Crystal.

A Cozy Read
Trials of Faith is one of those books you just can't put down! Crystal Ratcliff has done a great job of making Mac and Cassandra come alive as they struggle with the issue of salavation. In their relationship with each other, how do they "walk the walk" when life tosses them some curve balls? Reading Trials of Faith is like sitting across the table talking to your best friend. You'll come away refreshed and wanting more!

Beany (Not Beanhead) and the Magic Crystal
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (March, 2002)
Authors: Susan Wojciechowski and Susanna Natti
Average review score:

a quietly exciting story for girls and boys
This is a wonderfully wholesome book (as is the series). Bernice (Beany), her brother Philip, Mom, Dad, and her best friend are the main characters. I read this book (over the course of a week)at bedtime to my 4 year old and 6 year old boys. They remained interested throughout - often asking for "just a few more pages..." Beany is a well rounded, believable character. She runs into difficulties and struggles with issues that any young grade schooler might. When Beany recieves a crystal, that she believes to be magic, she looks for exactly the right situation to use it. There are many opportunities for her to use the crystal for herself - but in the end Beany discovers a far more important reason to use the "magic" Beany always seems to do the right thing (without making a show of it). This is a humorous and heartwarming story. If you enjoy this one - read "Beany and the Dreaded Wedding" - it is also fantastic for many of the same reasons.

Beany not baenhead and the magic crystal
Great book, beany is out in the store gets lost and alredy had experience with this problem so she goes up to the store clerk and asks for her mommy, the store cleark sends her to Rosie, Rosie tells her she will give her a candy bar if she helps her so she does looking up she sees a box and couriusly asks what's in there she pulls them down and tells her some of the crystals are magic and Beany asks her how do you no if there magic later on her mom comes and Rosie gives her a choise and Beany chooses the crystal read the book to find out what happens......

The Book of Stones & Metals
Published in Paperback by Merlyn Pr (February, 1900)
Authors: Maya Heath, Pam Steele, and Pete Catalano
Average review score:

My favorite Stone Energy book
This is a black and white book with exciting drawings, but with out pictures of actual stones...so if you must have pictures then a good simple good book that I would suggest would be the Illistrated Guide to Crystals <0806936274>, but absolutely no other book that I have come across compares to this book on working with understanding not only the energies of the crystals but of the major paths of "occupations" that crystals work best with. The simplist way I can explain it is that she breaks up the Chackra/colors centers and explains them in a Down to earth way of how we work with them and use certain energies. She explains where you could wear the metal and stone for the best effects, and talks about what stones/metals negate each other, and overall goes in depth on how Crystal/stone/energy effects our subtle energy systems. The thankful thing is that when she includes the healing properties it is very down to earth, where I have seen many metaphysical books (especailly the ever popular Love is the Earth) that are usually very "watery" about any properties going at length about a crystal but not actually giving you a firm idea of what type of energy it actually has while making many claims that seem outlandish or vague. Maya Heath writes it like it is, and after you read a crystals properity you get a general feeling of how you would actually work with a crystal. Also this is the first book that I have ever come across that really mentions some of the negative effects you can have through to much contact with a crystal. The book has much more references that I cannot remember at this time. I recommend this book whole heartedly to anyone interested or working energetically in crystals, stones or metals.

The Book of Stones and Metals
This book is good for anyone wanting to learn about stones and metals, learning the energy they carry, and the history of the acient Egyptian principles, helping to bring harmony into your life. A book for a great gift, as well as a book you will have on your book shelf for referance.
